You can use Google Alerts to tell you when you've been mentioned online. Just visit the site and set up an alert to email you every time that your name is mentioned in a news or media outlet. If you need help, consult this article.

For instance, I monitor "facebook updates" and "engineering." I get an email every time these words are mentioned. It's hard to keep in touch with people when you're busy. Set up a Google Alert for key professionals that you want to stay in touch with. This way, you don't need to check their LinkedIn profile endlessly. You'll get an alert when something big happens in their career and you can email them accordingly!

When you're busy, it's hard to sift through the headlines. Keep up with your industry by setting up a Google Alert for keywords from your field. For instance, to stay up-to-date with content marketing, set up an alert for the phrase "content marketing."
